Google Rolls Out Search Product for Scholars (Reuters).
This looks like an interesting development that would interest Onfolio customers. I tried some medical searches that I learned while talking to brain surgeons in San Diego, and it looks like Google Scholar makes extensive use of PubMed, but it also seems to be indexing a good number of journals directly. Here is a quote from the FAQ about what types of full-text articles will be available:
It depends on the source of the version you select and your relationship with its owner. You should be able to see the full text of articles from open access journals and preprint repositories, as well as preprints on the web. For others, you should be able to get access to the full text if you or an institution you belong to has a subscription for the content. Regardless of the source, you should be able to see an abstract for any article, with the exception of those that are offline and referenced in citations only.
Google Scholar also has nice integration with WorldCat, to help you find items that are in print at local libraries.
Overall, this engine looks like a great way for the intellectually curious to find information without having commercial sites and casual mentions in irrelevant sites overwhelm the top of the search results. I'm not sure how useful hard-core researchers will find Google Scholar, but I will definitely use it.
